As more and more corporate applications find their way to the cloud, and companies elect to use some derivative of XaaS to access desired capabilities, data center capacity, and their ability to scale, has become a primary consideration for providers. Capacity planning has always been more of an art than a science, but as the annual volume of information generated, transmitted and stored is geometrically escalating, even building a facility the size of the Taj Mahal is only temporary solution.
