“One size fits all”. Was there ever a concept more beautiful in its simplicity? One all encompassing entity that embraces it’s client base regardless of individual idiosyncrasies. Unfortunately, other than tube socks, the ability of anything to successfully take on all comers breaks down pretty quickly. For example, one man’s 34” Levis are another’s skinny jeans. The data center industry is no different. Despite the use of umbrella terms like “modular”, different end user needs call for different solutions. This is why we’ve introduced the “What Type of Data Center Do You Need?” section on our website.
Based on our data center industry experience it became obvious to us that many data center seeking businesses waste valuable time pursuing solutions that don’t match up to their requirements. We’ve developed this new page to serve as an tool that enables prospective data center customers to quickly compare their specific needs to the various types of data center offerings to determine the type of facility that best address them. Through this new capability, data center customers will be able to quickly identify the providers they should be working with to implement their data center solution. In many ways this new web page is based on the concept that is actively used within the insurance industry.
Naturally, we’d all like to believe that our data center offering provides the solution for any customer requirement but that simply isn’t the case. Providing customers the ability to self qualify based on data center type aids them and the community of data center providers. For customers, the time required for vendor identification, evaluation and selection is dramatically reduced, and providers know they are dealing with customers whose needs match their product capabilities. I hope the introduction of our new “What Type of Data Center Do You Need?” page becomes a useful tool for prospective data center customers as they attempt to navigate in an industry in which “one size does not fit all”.
