And now, autonomous drones are becoming a relevant part of our security solution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This new initiative stems out of two Compass key principles: asking why and continuous improvement. We\u2019re looking for opportunities to evolve, experiment and stay ahead of the curve. Even in areas where the status quo is operating without a hitch. This mindset is what led to the pilot program of autonomous drone technology as a potential enhancement to our current security system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Compass is evaluating Blackbird, an AI-powered drone system from Nightingale Security with the goal to assess how drone-based automation can enhance coverage, support teams on the ground and improve response times to incidents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The drones respond automatically to alerts from perimeter detection systems, launching within 30 seconds of a motion trigger or potential breach. During patrols, the drones provide live HD and thermal video, offering rapid, real-time situational awareness in locations that are difficult, or time-consuming, to monitor on foot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
By handling routine patrols and reactive responses, drones allow security teams to focus on strategic oversight, trend analysis and proactive risk management. In turn, the enhanced data collection from drones enables more informed decisions and faster response times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Autonomous systems like these have the potential to scale with Compass\u2019 expanding operations. Drones enable high-quality security coverage that can be maintained across large campuses, boosting long-term operational efficiency and a stronger value proposition for our customers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This drone pilot program is just one of many examples of how Compass puts its culture into practice. It\u2019s about being curious and open to new solutions.
