One of our core beliefs at Compass is that we have a responsibility to help improve the lives of those who are less fortunate than us and to be an active and positive force within our community. We believe that these goals are best achieved through the voluntary contributions of our time and financial assistance. We have selected the following organizations to be the focus of our efforts.
Marit Peterson Fund
The Marit Peterson Fund for Melanoma Research supports research of the inherited genome for melanoma in the Melanoma and Skin Center at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Unlike other charitable funds, 100% of each and every dollar raised for the Marit Peterson Fund goes directly to support melanoma research.
Wounded Warrior Project
The Wounded Warrior Project is dedicated to providing assistance to the soldiers, and their families, who have been injured during their service to our country.
Trinity Christian Academy
The Trinity Christian Academy Student Aid fund provides scholarship assistance to deserving students to enable them to continue their studies at the school.
College Golf Fellowship
Our mission is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with college golfers and coaches and equip them to be fully devoted followers of Christ.
Roof Dog Run
Since 2006, the annual Roof Dog Run has been a fun family event hosted by Christ Church Plano. This event raises funds to benefit orphaned children at Casa Hogar Children’s Home in Arequipa, Peru. Over 700 people and almost 100 dogs participated in 2011. Every year, we have seen participation increase in the Roof Dog Run. To date, over $178,000 has been raised for orphaned children in Peru through the Roof Dog Run.
Clayton Dabney Foundation
The Clayton Dabney Foundation for Kids with Cancer provides needy families, with children in the last stages of terminal cancer, assistance in creating everlasting memories. The assistance is arranged through the parents and is anonymous to the child.
