Compass Datacenters is proud to collaborate with Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) on the expansion of its DCFlex initiative, a global effort focused on advancing grid flexibility and reliability as data center and AI-driven demand continues to grow.

Announced at DTECH in San Diego, the expansion adds six new demonstration sites across the U.S. and Europe, bringing the total to nine active projects. These real-world demonstrations explore how data centers can support grid stability, reduce interconnection delays, and enable flexible energy use at scale.

Compass is participating alongside a coalition of leading energy and technology organizations to test solutions ranging from AI-driven load flexibility and geospatial load shifting to renewable backup fuels and flexibility-by-design in new data center developments.

As data centers are projected to account for up to 9% of U.S. electricity demand by 2030, initiatives like DCFlex play a critical role in aligning infrastructure growth with grid modernization.
