Nancy Novak Joins Compass Datacenters As Senior Vice President Of Construction
Dallas – September 12, 2017 – Compass Datacenters has named Nancy Novak as Senior Vice President of Construction of the company, a role that leads Compass Datacenters’ construction and delivery of mission critical data centers for its customers. Novak is one of the most respected executives in the center construction industry with regular speaking roles of national prominence. Her role on Compass’ senior leadership will be to lead a rapidly-growing number of new greenfield projects across the United States while maintaining Compass’ commitment to construction quality, innovation and industry-leading delivery times.
Novak joins Compass from Balfour Beatty Construction, where she was National Vice President of Operations. Novak was a key resource in assessing and strengthening the company’s ability to bring national consistency to strong, existing operating standards. With more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Novak brings extensive expertise in oversight and responsibility for client budgetary and quality goals, financial planning, risk management, design management, procurement, cost evaluations, aggressive scheduling management and resource planning.
“Compass Datacenters is growing at a very rapid pace because of the way our dedicated data centers and unmatched delivery time meet the technical and business needs of companies looking to support in-market data centers, edge computing, IoT deployments, low-latency cloud deployments and much more. To meet that market demand, we are embarking on a major expansion of our portfolio, and there is no one else in the industry that does a better job of leading teams to build mission critical facilities than Nancy,” said Chris Crosby, Founder and CEO of Compass Datacenters. “I’ve known Nancy for many years, and I have had the great pleasure of collaborating with her on a number of important projects. Adding someone of her talents flawlessly fits our needs as the company continues to grow. She was a must-hire for our building aspirations, and I’m thrilled to have her as a part of our team.”
“Compass’ future is incredibly bright because of its outstanding team and the way its facilities fill a growing need in the data center market that is not well served by other companies’ solutions and services,” said Nancy Novak.” I have known Chris Crosby for a long time, and the successful collaborations we have had on past data center projects and the strong culture of Compass made it clear that we would work well together if we ever had the chance. That made it an easy decision to join Compass to lead construction as the company makes the next big step forward in its growth. I’m looking forward to supporting the company’s growth strategy across the country and enhancing Compass’ strong position in the market.”
In addition to her role leading for the company, Novak will continue to put a major focus on advancing opportunities and support for women in construction and technology—a cause that she has invested countless hours supporting across her career through mentoring, speaking and participation in organizations such as Women In Government Relations (WGR), Women Construction Owners and Executives (WCOE), the World Trade Center Institute (WTCI), Fortune Media Most Powerful Women and the National Woman’s Party in Washington, D.C. Novak is also a member of Above Glass Ceilings (AGC), a nationwide initiative that is advancing women in STEM in partnership with Fortune 500 companies as well as taking the lead on development of the Smithsonian American Museum for Women’s History.
“One of the things that makes me feel at home already at Compass is how the company lives its commitment to inclusivity in an industry where there are so few women,” said Novak. One of the most exciting parts of joining the company is the support Chris Crosby and the team have given me to expand that work, which gives me a new platform for putting a spotlight on the advancement of women in construction and technology and supporting women who are entering careers in these fields. Compass is leading the industry with construction techniques that are able to attract women into the field of construction and delivery of world-class facilties.”
