Chris Crosby is a recognized visionary and leader in the data center space and has served as founder and CEO of Compass Datacenters since 2011. Previously, Chris served as a senior executive and founding member of Digital Realty Trust. Prior to the initial public offering of Digital Realty, Chris was founder and managing director of Proferian, which served as an operating platform for the private equity fund, GI Partners, and was rolled into the IPO for Digital Realty Trust. Prior to Proferian, Chris served as a consultant for CRG West, now Coresite.
ADIL ATTLASSY
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Adil Attlassy serves as Compass’ Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Attlassy is widely respected as a thought leader in IT infrastructure who has been at the forefront of data center trends over the past two decades. Prior to joining Compass, Adil served as the General Manager of Global Site and Network Acquisition for Microsoft. Before Microsoft, Mr. Attlassy held the position of Chief Development Officer for IO. In that role, he was directly responsible for global site selection and development, and he oversaw the company’s data center procurement and supply chain engagement. Prior to IO, Adil held executive positions for Digital Realty Trust in the U.S., UK and Singapore. Mr. Attlassy holds a DUT from Institut de Technologie, Mulhouse, France, a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Los Angeles and an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management.
AJ BYERS
CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
AJ Byers serves as Compass’ Chief Development Officer. AJ has over 20 years of experience in the data center industry, most recently as the President and CEO of ROOT Data Centers, the fastest growing wholesale data center provider in Canada. Prior to his tenure at ROOT, Mr. Byers served as the President of Rogers Data Centers where he led his team in the development of one of Canada’s largest data center service companies with 15 centers nationally. Before Rogers, AJ held the position of executive VP of Primus. In this role, he guided its transition from a legacy telecom provider to a full solution technology services organization. Prior to Primus, Mr. Byers was the COO of Magma Communications, where he was instrumental in building one of Canada’s first internet data centers.
CHRIS CURTIS
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, DEVELOPMENT & ACQUISITIONS
Chris Curtis, Compass Datacenters’ co-founder and SVP of Development and Acquisitions has successfully developed more than 50 projects throughout the United States and Canada. Chris has over 18 years of experience in site-selection, acquisition, and development with particular expertise in complex data center and high-security federal government projects. Before Compass, Mr. Curtis was President of Curtis Investments LLC. In this capacity, Chris worked with clients such as the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Attorney’s Office and other federal customers to help them develop their greenfield real estate projects. Prior to Curtis Investments, Mr. Curtis was a tax attorney at Haynes and Boone LLP responsible for business formations, tax strategy and mergers and acquisitions. Chris received his L.L.M. in Tax from the New York University School of Law, a J.D. cum laude, from SMU School of Law and his B.S.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Arkansas.
JARED DAY
PRESIDENT AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Jared Day has over 20 years of experience scaling high growth businesses. Previously, Jared was the President of Armor Defense, Inc a cloud cyber security company, where he led the organization through a period of rapid growth (5x in four years). Jared served as acting CFO for most of his time at Armor, overseeing the financial management of the company and closing several rounds of debt and equity capital. At Armor Defense, Jared was also responsible for product management, operations, sales, marketing and all administrative functions. Previously, Jared spent eight years as a Principal at the Boston Consulting Group where he specialized in developing growth strategies and execution plans for portfolio companies of several of the world’s largest private equity investors. Prior to BCG, Jared was CFO of FirstDoor, a software-as-a-service company acquired by Infor. Jared began his professional career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Jared received a B.S. degree in Management and Accounting from Washington and Lee University, magna cum laude, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
JIM GANLEY
CHIEF ACCOUNTING OFFICER
Jim Ganley serves as Compass’ Chief Accounting Office and brings over 30 years of experience in public accounting, SEC reporting and entrepreneurial private business to the position. Prior to joining Compass Mr. Ganley was the VP Controller at Armor Defense, Inc. for six years. Before his tenure at Armor, Mr. Ganley served as the Controller for Prodea Systems. Jim is a Certified Public Accountant and has a B.S. degree in Accounting from Rochester Institute of Technology.
NANCY NOVAK
CHIEF INNOVATION OFFICER
With more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Nancy Novak brings extensive expertise in oversight and responsibility for Profit and Loss. In her current role as Chief Innovation Officer for Compass Datacenters, her focus is cutting-edge technology, lean practices, and innovative culture through the diversity of thought to add value, improve return on investment, and disrupt the construction industry. Nancy serves on the Executive Board of Directors for NIBS, the Board of Directors for the World Trade Center Institute, and the Board of Directors for Weston Solutions, a global environmental firm. She is heavily involved in organizations that lead the way for technological advancement in the construction industry, and she is an advocate for women’s leadership. Nancy is also an Executive Sponsor for the Digital Divide on the iMasons Advisory Board. She is also the host of the “Extending the Ladder” podcast, which features Nancy’s dynamic conversations with prominent women in the technology industry – a forum where these accomplished women offer insights, advice, and inspiration that listeners can apply to their own professional lives.
RAYMOND HAWKINS
CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER
Raymond Hawkins serves as Compass Datacenters’ Chief Revenue Officer. In this role, Mr. Hawkins is responsible for all of the company’s sales, sales channels, and marketing. Before joining Compass, Raymond served as the Senior Vice President of Global Solutions Sales for Digital Reality. In this position, Mr. Hawkins was responsible for the company’s sales in North America, South America, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific, as well as its Global Sales Engineering team. Prior to Digital Reality, Raymond held the position of Southwest Region General Manager for systems integrator Sirius Computer Solutions. Mr. Hawkins also served in the United States Marine Corps and holds a B.S. in Finance from Auburn University.
SUDHIR KALRA
EVP OF GLOBAL OPERATIONS
Sudhir Kalra serves as Compass’ EVP of Global Operations. Prior to joining Compass, Mr. Kalra served as Executive Director, Global Head of Enterprise Data Centers for Morgan Stanley. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Sudhir was Director, Corporate Real Estate and Services – Global Head of Engineering and Critical Systems at Deutsche Bank where he was responsible for mission-critical support of a real estate portfolio comprised of over 30 million square feet. Mr. Kalra began his career in technical roles at Securities Industry Automation Corporation supporting mission-critical operations for the NYSE and American Stock Exchange. Sudhir holds a BEEE from City University of NY and an MSEE from NYU-Poly University.
TAMARA YANG
EVP OF DELIVERY
Tamara serves as Compass Datacenters’ EVP of Delivery and brings 20 years of experience in the construction industry to the role. In this position, she is responsible for the global Compass Construction Program and leads the Delivery organization in the US and Canada. Prior to joining Compass, Tamara served as VP of Organizational Development for Balfour Beatty. In this role, Tamara was responsible for Balfour Beatty’s organizational transformation and evolution of the company’s operational policies and procedures. She also created and led their national Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, and DE&I programs. Before Balfour Beatty, Tamara held several operational roles at Hensel Phelps and Turner Construction in Project Management, Quality Control, Estimating and Procurement. Prior to entering the construction industry, Tamara served in the Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, she holds a B.S. in Physics and a M.S. in Human Resources Management.
