As a founding partner of the MEI (Mechanical, Electrical and Information Technology) Data Center Pathway Program at Texas State Technical College’s Red Oak campus, Compass Datacenters is helping create new pathways into the rapidly growing digital infrastructure industry.
Developed in partnership with TSTC, the 12 week program equips students with hands on training in mechanical, electrical and cooling systems, preparing them for high demand roles in data center operations. More than just technical training, the program is designed to meet workforce needs while opening doors for individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Stories from the program’s first cohort highlight its real world impact.
For Michael Carvalho, a U.S. Navy veteran, the program became a turning point. After years of struggling with the effects of a traumatic brain injury, he rediscovered the skills and confidence he once relied on in the military. Today, he is thriving as a multi skilled operator at Compass Datacenters’ Red Oak campus and pursuing long term career growth in the industry. Read Michael’s story.
For Crystal Conroy, a single mother and U.S. Army veteran, the program provided an opportunity to build a more stable future. Through hands on training and scholarship support, she gained confidence in technical skills and is continuing her education in computer networking and systems administration. Read Crystal’s story.
Together, these stories reflect a broader mission. By partnering with educators and industry leaders, Compass is helping build a workforce that is not only skilled, but empowered to grow alongside the infrastructure shaping the future.
