The Schneider Electric Blog has covered a modular infrastructure milestone involving Compass Datacenters. Schneider Electric’s prefabricated power centers have earned UL 2755 certification, the Outline of Investigation covering safety, performance and integration for prefabricated modular data center systems and related modular units. Compass is among the first operators to adopt the new benchmark.
According to Amy Marks, SVP, ESG and Innovation, certification means the power centers now arrive as certified appliances, with no internal inspection required. That removes a step from every deployment and gets capacity to customers faster. Michael Murphy, VP, Commissioning, notes that the certification extends Compass’s practice of moving work upstream, so problems get solved in a controlled environment rather than discovered in the field.
The post frames the certification as a shared milestone for both companies and for the industry, with UL Solutions now working to extend the standard to owner-operators, OEMs and code authorities.
