Chief Executive Officer
Chris Crosby is a recognized visionary and leader in the datacenter space and has served as founder and CEO of Compass Datacenters since 2011. Chris has over 25 years of technology experience and over 15 years of real estate and investment experience. Previously, Chris served as a senior executive and founding member of Digital Realty Trust. Chris was Senior Vice President at Digital Realty Trust, responsible for roles included global responsibility for corporate development, sales, marketing, design, construction, technical operations and customer service. Prior to the initial public offering of Digital Realty, Chris was founder and managing director of Proferian, which served as an operating platform for the private equity fund, GI Partners, and was rolled into the IPO for Digital Realty Trust. Prior to Proferian, Chris served as a consultant for CRG West, now Coresite. For the first ten years of his career, Chris was active in international and domestic sales, sales management and product development at Nortel Networks, a major supplier of products and services that support the Internet and other public and private data, voice and multimedia communications networks. Mr. Crosby received a B.S. degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin. He serves as the Vice Chair of the board for the Masters in Datacenter Systems Engineering degree program at Southern Methodist University. Chris is also active in the Lonestar chapter of YPO.
President and Chief Financial Officer
Jared Day has over 20 years of experience scaling high growth businesses. Previously, Jared was the President of Armor Defense, Inc a cloud cyber security company, where he led the organization through a period of rapid growth (5x in four years). Jared served as acting CFO for most of his time at Armor, overseeing the financial management of the company and closing several rounds of debt and equity capital. At Armor Defense, Jared was also responsible for product management, operations, sales, marketing and all administrative functions. Previously, Jared spent eight years as a Principal at the Boston Consulting Group where he specialized in developing growth strategies and execution plans for portfolio companies of several of the world’s largest private equity investors. Prior to BCG, Jared was CFO of FirstDoor, a software-as-a-service company acquired by Infor. Jared began his professional career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Jared received a B.S. degree in Management and Accounting from Washington and Lee University, magna cum laude, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
Chief Revenue Officer
Raymond Hawkins serves as Compass Datacenters’ Chief Revenue Officer. In this role, Mr. Hawkins is responsible for all of the company’s sales, sales channels and go to market strategy. Before joining Compass, Raymond served as the Senior Vice President of Global Solutions Sales for Digital Reality. In this position, Mr. Hawkins was responsible for the company’s sales in North America, South America, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific, as well as its Global Sales Engineering team. Prior to Digital Reality, Raymond held the position of Southwest Region General Manager for systems integrator Sirius Systems. Mr. Hawkins also served in the United States Marine Corps and holds a B.S. in Finance from Auburn University.
Chief Technical Officer
Adil Attlassy serves as Compass’ Chief Technical Officer. Mr. Attlassy is widely respected as a thought leader in IT infrastructure who has been at the forefront of data center trends over the past two decades. Prior to joining Compass, Adil served as the General Manager of Global Site and Network Acquisition for Microsoft. Before Microsoft, Mr. Attlassy held the position of Chief Development Officer for IO. In that role, he was directly responsible for global site selection and development, and he oversaw the company’s data center procurement and supply chain engagement. Prior to IO, Adil held executive positions for Digital Realty Trust in the U.S., UK and Singapore. Mr. Attlassy holds a DUT from Institut de Technologie, Mulhouse, France, a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Los Angeles and an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management.
Chief Accounting Officer
Jim Ganley serves as Compass’ Chief Accounting Office and brings over 30 years of experience in public accounting, SEC reporting and entrepreneurial private business to the position. Prior to joining Compass Mr. Ganley was the VP Controller at Armor Defense, Inc. for six years. Before his tenure at Armor, Mr. Ganley served as the Controller for Prodea Systems. Jim is a Certified Public Accountant and has a B.S. degree in Accounting from Rochester Institute of Technology.
AJ Byers serves as Compass’ President, International. AJ has over 20 years of experience in the data center industry, most recently as the President and CEO of ROOT Data Centers, the fastest growing wholesale data center provider in Canada. Prior to his tenure at ROOT, Mr. Byers served as the President of Rogers Data Centers where he led his team in the development of one of Canada’s largest data center service companies with 15 centers nationally. Before Rogers, AJ held the position of executive VP of Primus. In this role, he guided its transition from a legacy telecom provider to a full solution technology services organization. Prior to Primus, Mr. Byers was the COO of Magma Communications, where he was instrumental in building one of Canada’s first internet data centers.
Senior Vice President, Development & Acquisitions
Chris Curtis, Compass Datacenters’ co-founder and SVP of Development and Acquisitions has successfully developed more than 50 projects throughout the United States and Canada. Chris has over 18 years of experience in site-selection, acquisition, and development with particular expertise in complex data center and high-security federal government projects. Before Compass, Mr. Curtis was President of Curtis Investments LLC. In this capacity, Chris worked with clients such as the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Attorney’s Office and other federal customers to help them develop their greenfield real estate projects. Prior to Curtis Investments, Mr. Curtis was a tax attorney at Haynes and Boone LLP responsible for business formations, tax strategy and mergers and acquisitions. Chris received his L.L.M. in Tax from the New York University School of Law, a J.D. cum laude, from SMU School of Law and his B.S.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Arkansas.
Senior Vice President, Construction
Nancy Novak, Compass Datacenters’ SVP of Construction, has over 25 years of construction experience and has overseen the delivery of over $3.5 billion in projects during that time. Prior to joining Compass, Nancy was the National Vice President of Operations for Balfour Beatty Construction which she joined after serving in a variety of executive positions for Hensel Phelps Construction Company. Ms. Novak is actively involved in a number of organizations dedicated to the advancement of woman in business including Above the Glass Ceiling (AGC) who are working with Fortune 500 companies to aid in the advancement of women in STEM, Women in Government Relations (WGE), Women Construction Owners and Executives (WCOE), The World Trade Center Initiative, Fortune Media’s Most Powerful Women and the National Women’s Party. Nancy is a frequent speaker on the topic and has participated in the White House Womens and Diversity in STEM forums. Nancy holds a degree in Construction Engineering and Management from San Diego State University.
Vice President, Marketing
Mr. Flaig brings over 30 years of experience to his role of Compass’ vice president of marketing. Steve is responsible for all of the company’s marketing and public relations activities. Prior to joining Compass, Mr. Flaig served as the director of global marketing at Digital Realty Trust. Steve served in a number of high-tech marketing positions before joining Digital. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in Telecommunications from Michigan State.
Tina Eaton, CPA
Vice President, Controller
Tina Eaton brings over 34 years of commercial real estate experience to her position as Compass Datacenters’ VP, Controller. Prior to Compass, Ms. Eaton worked with both high profile public firms and private start-up companies. Tina’s experience in real estate includes Office, Retail, Multifamily, Industrial Flex, Data Centers and Hotels. In addition to operating accounting, Ms. Eaton’s experience includes construction development, joint venture, and governmental accounting. She has a Texas CPA license and is a member of the AICPA.
Vice President, Operations
Mr. Salcido brings over 30+ years of experience to his role of Compass’ vice president of operations. Andrew is responsible for all of the company’s Operations activities. Prior to joining Compass, Mr. Salcido served as VP Of Operations at T5 Data Centers; before arriving at T5 he was the Director of Operations for Vantage Data Centers and Director of Operations at Digital Realty Trust. Andrew served in a number of operations positions before joining Digital.
Managing Director, EdgePoint
Sharif Fotouh is the Managing Director for Compass EdgePoint. Mr. Fotouh is the co-founder of EdgePoint Systems and joined the Compass via acquisition. Prior to founding EdgePoint, Sharif worked for Google where he founded and led the company’s national network facilities and deployment engineering program. Mr. Fotouh is a recognized voice within the IT and data center industries and is a frequent speaker at industry conference and trade shows. Sharif is a graduate of the University of Texas.
